I am a MESS

Can someone explain to me how you forget that you have class at one instead of two?
I got home from my 10 o'clock class, at 11, thinking that I had three hours before my next class, only to realize, as I was walking to class at 1:45, that my class was at one! Oh gosh, I am a mess. We've been in school for weeks and I still can't remember my schedule?

Mess.

Happy freaking Valentine's Day, everyone.

It's all Fun and Games Until...

Someone steals your monkey.

Poor Charlie.

He was kidnapped by Lynette, and is being held hostage.

Sleepover!

So, when trying to come up with something fun to do this weekend we decided to have a sleepover. It was a lot of fun!

First, we moved my bed. (well, my mattress)

We went into my room....

And moved my mattress into the hall...

Then into Ashley and Lynette's room...

We spent a considerable amount of time jumping on the bed...

Then I made my bed...

We spent the night watching Sweeney Todd (Love Musicals!) and talking. It was a lot of fun.

On Thursday Ashley, Lynette, and I donated blood. I was really proud of myself because I tried something different and did something I was scared to do. I didn’t think it would affect me at all but I was wrong. I was feeling really good because first of all, the needle didn’t hurt like I thought it would. Before she stuck me I asked if it would hurt and she said it would pinch and sting a little, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Also, I could actually look at it after she stuck me and wasn’t grossed out. Haha. Then after I was done, I was feeling fine. About twenty minutes later I started to feel light headed and queasy. I could hear buzzing in my ear too, and one of the technicians said I was probably about to pass out. Thank goodness I didn’t! I had to lie down for a few minutes until I felt better. My friend Ashley had a worse time though. She did pass out. It was really scary! The funny part is that Lynette, the one who is scared of needles and who was really scared to do this, didn’t have any side effects at all! Not to mention, she decided she would come with only hours before we went! How cruel! Haha. But, Ashley and I decided that it was worth it because we might have saved someone’s life by giving blood that day. :)

Lynette didn't want to be in the picture...(party pooper)

Reading...

I read all the Harry Potter books over my break.

What an adventure. I can't believe how much I had forgotten. I guess I just flew through them so I could get to the end and find out what happened and in the process I didn't retain much. Haha. Loooooooved reading them again though. Book 6 and 7 are my favorites.

Next, I'm going to read City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. It was recommended to me by a friend, and I was told it was really good. I'm excited to read it.

There's a Spring in My Step

The first week of the second semester is over! What a long week it has been. I have to say that I was not excited about this semester. For one, I have to take Math and History, two of the subjects that I loathe the most, and Katie informed me that spring semester was the worst and hardest to deal with. Great. I was not really looking forward to it. However, I have definitely changed my attitude. Math will always suck, and will always be my weakest point but I only have to take this one class and I’ll never have to study it again. History isn’t so bad. I still don’t like it but again, I only have to take this one class. I am taking Intro to Visual Arts, and Intro to Poetry. I think these are going to be my favorite classes. My Art Prof is from Holland so she has a super cool accent. :] It makes it easier to listen to her lectures! Haha. Oh, and she said that she isn’t going to make us memorize dates (YAY)! This week in my Poetry course has confirmed to me that I am definitely in the right major. I love it. I wasn’t too keen on it in high school but I think that is what made me like it so much. I had to simply get through it in high school and so after two years of it, I learned to like it.

My schedule is pretty good too. Not as good as last semester’s but still good.

M/W/F:

10:00 – 10:50 am – Intro to Visual Arts

1:00 – 1:50 pm – College Composition

2:00 – 2:50 pm – Intro to Poetry

T/TH:

11:00 am – 12:15 pm – US History since 1876

2:00 – 2:50 pm – Math 130

3:00 – 3:50 pm – Math 130 (Lab)

It does feel weird being back here after a month of being home. But the homesickness isn’t as bad as it was first semester, and I have learned how to balance everything so I have a feeling that it won’t be so hard.

Oh, and the sixty degree weather sure doesn't hurt! :]

New Fish...

I love this!

My fish, Sharkbait (the red one), gets really angry, but Melissa's fish (Blue fish) could care less. Haha. Watch him flare and "dance," he even tries to ram the partition a couple of times. He's very angry.
