So I finished Memoirs of a Geisha. It was really good and really interesting. I loved it. It is definitely a book I could revisit. That's pretty special because I don't like to read the same books more than once; only certain books get on that list. :}
In my World Lit class, we read some of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories and I loved them! I think I am going to read more of those for sure; maybe that's what I will start next. :}

I need your 2 cents.

I want to ask anyone who is voting this year to vote YES on Amendment 51. Basically, this amendment will raise the Colorado sales tax to 3.1%, which comes out to 2 cents on a $10 purchase. The tax will only be applied to taxable items…so not gas, food, household electricity and heat or prescriptions. Did I lose you at tax increase? I know that is the last thing that anyone wants...BUT this tax increase will raise over $100 million annually and will be used to help children and adults with mental disabilities. Amendment 51 provides new funding for much-needed services that people with developmental disabilities and their families need now and in the future, such as constant supervision, help with daily tasks, a place to live, job training or nursing services.
I don’t want anyone to think that I am trying to tell you how to vote, or offend or anything like that, I just want to get word out about this…
I have a brother and a sister with mental disabilities so this issue is very important to me. Please vote YES on Amendment 51.

Stuffffff.....
I love the flea market!! Sometimes you can get really great stuff for a really great price; for example, I found that I needed a small bookcase or other type of shelving for my room because I had a lot of books and nowhere to put them. I mentioned this to my uncle and he and Brenda found something at the flea market. They are wooden cubes about a foot by a foot, and they work perfectly! (and they were a buck a piece!) I didn’t like the way two of them looked together on my desk so I put one on my desk and one on dresser. They hold all of my books, give me extra space, and provide a good home for my printer….and they match the furniture in the room! Thanks for the awesome find Uncle Mike and Brenda!
My plant just keeps on growing! This is so exciting for me since I have no luck with plants! :]

A Big Update....
I’ve been in school for 6 weeks now. I can’t believe it! It has gone so fast! I am feelin pretty good about it too because I have had some great experiences. I was so scared that I wouldn’t do well and I had this fear in the back of my mind that I would either fail out or have to drop out because I couldn’t do it. But I feel more confident about it now. I’m not so worried…I’ve done well on my assignments and tests and even landed a 101/110 on my world lit midterm! :]] Which made me very happy. :]]
Last night I went to the sewing lab with my friends Ashley and Lynette. Ashley and I did homework and goofed around while Lynette worked on sewing samples for her class (she is a fashion design major). I had a lot of fun at the sewing lab, and I could tell that the people there were passionate about what they were doing and it reminded me of the darkroom. I used to spend hours in the darkroom at school working on projects or just working on pictures for myself. It was so much fun and I miss it a lot. I’m sad that CSU doesn’t offer photo classes. Maybe I can find a cheap public darkroom in Fort Collins.
I finished reading The Host. It was so good! It took a long time to get into it and some of the parts of the story dragged on but it still was really enjoyable. I would recommend it to fans of Stephenie Meyer, fiction, science fiction and/or love stories. :]
Now I’m reading Memoirs of a Geisha, and so far it is really good. :]
Well, that’s all I’ve got.

Poll results!
With an ASTOUNDING 3 to 1 victory, Confessions of an Amateur Photographer won. Haha. I guess it fits better since I do more photo than I do writing anyway.
OK...not that anyone cares...ha.
I'm going to do some homework now I guess.
